Roger W. Sanders Memorial Scholarship Fund

Core Academy is pleased to announce the new Roger W. Sanders Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Back in 2013 when we started Core Academy, Roger and I discussed offering a fellowship or scholarship for students interested in doing creation research, but it took those five intervening years for us to grow the ministry to the point of finally offering these scholarships.  I'm sad that Roger didn't quite make it to see the program finally launch, but he knew we were ready.  I'm happy that we'll be able to remember him in these scholarships.  I pray that future generation of Sanders Scholars will continue to carry on his work.

How will these scholarships work?  We're still sorting out the details, and we hope to begin accepting applications in January.  Right now, we imagine it will work like this: A student will apply for a scholarship to do a research project with a professor at their home institution.  The money could be used to pay for research supplies, field work, or even conference travel or publication fees.  A second option would be to apply to work directly at Core Academy for a semester or a summer term.  A student could work on research while learning about the creation model from us.  These funds will help Core Academy continue and expand the kind of mentoring relationships that Roger was known for.

To fund the 2019 scholarship program and complete our 2018 budget year, we need to raise $16,000 by the end of the year.  If you believe in creation research and mentoring like Roger did, I hope you'll consider a contribution to the scholarship fund.  Click that big donate button below, or visit the official Sanders Scholarship announcement for more information.  Thank you!
